If there is only minor work done on the fish then often it is worth doing this whilst the fish is still in the bowl with the sedate.
With larger fish it sometimes requires an extra pair of hands to raise the fish but in terms of stress and the risk of drying out it does make things easier.
if you see a reaction just put it back into untreated water and it will soon come round again.

i here clove oil does the same, but where can it be bought from?
